Petersham Ribbon

- Ideal for hat trimmings.

100% viscose is soft and drapy. It will curve and shrink perfectly around the tightest of brims. (2 digit colour numbers - 02, 03, 04, 08, 14, 21, 26, 27, 35, 37, 41, 57, 72, 81)

100% polyester has body and works well for pleated trimming and bands. It curves and does not shrink. (3 digit colour numbers - 029, 203, 243, 260, 363, 640, 660, 813)

Petersham is a type of grosgrain ribbon woven on a shuttle loom. The scalloped edge allows it to be pressed into a curve for trimming, bands and head fittings. A unique feature of this type of ribbon.

Lovely quality

The polyester ribbon is perfect for ribbon work needing a stiffer hold - not so good for head fittings though. The softer petersham (viscose I think) is amazing for head fittings and edging - shrinks superbly!
