Crin as Crinoline is commonly called is a netting made from polypropylene. It comes in various widths, colours, patterns, metallic threads and also pleated, and even tubular. 

Lightweight & Stiff - can be used for making brims and trims, and to reinforce bows. 

Crinoline fabric is a open-mesh fabric, made from 100% cotton, 100% polyester or 100% nylon – blends exist, but they're less common. 

The fiber is chemically treated to make it stiffer, will melt and harden - not dye-able. 

Can be manipulated in a variety of ways. 

Can also have thread (called Drawstrings) on one edge for gathering and shaping.
